Oregon G6 Blades

I had to do some fancy maneuvering to get them for my Hustler 60" XR7 deck. I went to Oregon's site and used my specs for the regular high lifts (Oregon made the OEM originals) and found some that had the same dimensions. But the catalog does not list a set for my machine per say.

If you find a blade that has the correct mounting hole size/shape and the same length, you might be OK. The G6 is their Gator blade design combining all of Oregon's "3 in 1" characteristics - including the fusion steel process. But it is primarily aimed at the bigger commercial duty machines. For example, my Husqvrna 22 HP 50 in. deck garden tractor can be fit with Gators - but certainly not the heavy/thick G6 blades.

If you do try the web site approach I suggested, (http://www.oregonproducts.com/pro/pr...des/blades.htm) look in the section that shows universal fits as well as the OEM exact fits. Their old pdf catalogs they had for download were much better - if you have an older one, (2009 etc.) to find the part numbers. I don't find it as easy trying to use the new "drill-down tree" they have now.

But honestly - I have G6's, the Oregon/OEM high lifts, and some Oregon Gator blades. They all do a great job - about the same results. However, that Gator look does have the superior testosterone affect.

I'm having trouble trying to find G6 blades for a John Deere 920M with 54" cut. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

396-706 is the part number. You can order them from several places like-

http://www.mowpart.com/catalogsearch...oregon+396-706

or Stonewall Trading, but ST site isn't working right now.

Check the Oregon website. They have a d/l pdf that lists all mowers they make blades for.

Thanks guys for the help. All the different choice had me thrown for a loop. I looked online and in my owners manual for a part number on blades and others. I didn't see it.

Ordered a set of the G6 blades last week..got them in a few days ago and tried them out.....THESE THINGS ARE AWSEOME!!!!!

I have a low spot in the back of my lawn that its about an acre in size...It's been too wet to cut lately with all of the rain but I finally had a chance to cut it when I put the new G6 blades on...the grass was between 9-12 inches tall......I cut wide open full throttle, never bogged down or lost power in the least bit...left the grass looking just as good as the rest of my lawn...and best part of all...no clumps of grass all over the ground....the clippings were just PULVERIZED TO DUST!!! These things are amazing so far....I have only cut that one acre since applying them to my mower but from what I've seen so far....if you're considering a set of these....just go ahead and order them you won't be disappointed. If you aren't considering them....YOU SHOULD BE!!

my deere z920a used to bog down in the thick/wet stuff with stock factory blades but the G6 blades fixed this problem.
