Any Stihl Discounts?

Has anybody bought Stihl equipment at discount prices? I have talked to 1 or 2 dealers and they come off 10% on the retail advertised price (other swear the MSRP is the bible), was wondering if this is the best price thats out there? Was looking at a weedeater and Leaf Blower, so any amount off 1000.00 helps. thanks

A good friend of mine is a Stihl dealer. She may be able to help you out. What exactly are you looking for?

Sometimes the Stihl dealers will have a promotional check that they can use any way that they like. My dealer hooked me up for $40 off of my new BR600 Magnum. Real nice guy that Derek is.

My dealer sells most Stihl equipment at a discount to every one, the prices are
on the tags in his showroom. His comment to me was that he sold equipment
this way to capture the walk in market, right across the street from H.D, Lowes
and Tractor Supply, and that he makes more money from the service and parts
sales that follow. And yes, he is right across the street from the formerly men-
tioned box stores.

My Stihl dealer is my local Ace Hardware. I know when you purchase from them and let them know you are a contractor they take off 5% from marked price. I have also heard from a friend who owns a lawn service that he saves 10% off the marked price after he's purchased 5 or more Stihl machines.

I believe this is an Ace Hardware thing, so I have no idea if it will help you. check with your local dealer to see what incentives he has. after all you are going to be buying equipment the rest of your business' existance. its in their best interest to keep you coming back.

I bought a Stihl chainsaw the other day. My dealer gave me 90 days same as cash. I set it up on my debit card as 3 payments once monthly. I didn't ask for a discount but, I did ask for that. They said NO PROBLEM. To me that is as good as a discount. They did throw in a free extra chain now that I think about it. So I made out twice. Not cheap just fair. I say if you don't ask you may never know. Just ask nicely and be sure to say THANK YOU !!

That's an 8% (discount).

We have a few Stihl dealers in town. All but one hold the retail price as gospel. I don't do business with them.

I'm quite sure my Stihl dealer of choice makes up for the discounts he passes my way....in volume...lol. I probably have a brick with my name on it in his bldg..

From what I can tell the Stihl dealers here pretty much hold retail as gospel as well. I just bought a new trimmer and the price was the same everywhere around here. BTW What the hell is that metal bar that came with it for? It was in the bag with the owners manual.
