Help choosing aerator

So I need to buy a decent aerator for use this August and September. I finally have the budget set aside, but still not sure what to get. I was all hyped up on the Lawn Solutions 24" w/sulky, but it looks like things are up in the air with the Toro acquisition.

So now I am looking at:
-Turfco XT5 with Briggs for $3K, shipped direct.
-Plugr PL855 with Honda (don't know the price).

Both are hydrostatic drive. Any recommendations? Anyone own one of these? We have hills and lousy stony soil here. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I would like some suggestions too. I was ready to plunk down $4500 for the Lawn Solutions so obviously I want the next best thing. No clue which one that is though.

Plugr is about $4700. Big price difference there.

Why not stick with your original choice? My Toro Dealer is now stocking LS equipment and parts.

Since HBFOX dug up this old thread, I will update. I bought the Turfco XT5. They had a free shipping special, and they had them in stock, ready to go. It was shipped direct, in a heavy carton on a pallet. It has a B&S 8.5HP engine. Very quiet, btw. Pretty easy to set up, just 4 bolts for the handlebar, and fuel it up. I ran it a little, and it is pretty nice, easy to operate so far. Maybe a real review will be in order when I actually use it in the field.

Just ordered and received a TURFCO XT5 myself. Even though I haven't given it much field time, I can say that my initial impressions are very good. The B&S engine is very quiet and has plenty of power. Fairly easy to turn with the long handle bar and differential tine assembly. Plus the reverse makes areating in small areas very easy.

TURFCO's staff have been great to work with, from sales to their technical staff. I order my XT5 and had it in less than a week. With 10% off and free shipping, that's hard to beat.
