How do we make adjustments to valve on Kawasaki FD731V

Does anyone have any information on how to adjust the valve setting on a Kawasaki FD731V. I have setting of .006, understand I need a feeler gauge and shims. What kinds of shims and how do we proceed? Sorry to need the information in such simple terms but I can follow directions like a charm. Many Thanks.
