Older Bobcat issue

I just got an older Bobcat mower, model M36 11B, and just got it running but the speed controller doesn't work. It moves and cuts perfectly but I have to walk at a pretty brisk pace to keep up with the machine. I know I'm being vague with my post but maybe someone else has had experience and would be able to point myself and my mechanic in the right direction. Thank you!

Sounds like you need to remove the variable speed pulley assembly (big pulley with spring in it), Take it apart and give it a good cleaning and a little lubrication.

Thank you for the help. You wouldn't happen to know if there is an online manual for the mower would you?
