Replacing A Large Rotor With A small One Question
For example, replacing a RB 5004 with a RB 3504.
Any tricks to use in order to not have to replace the 3/4" FP fitting with a 1/2" FP fitting, i.e., some type of bushing, 3/4" female x 1/2" male cut off riser, etc? A 3/4" female x 1/2" male MARLEX would be nice!!! Thanks, Mex |

![]() When ever I bushing down In this instance if you can't cut out the pipe to install 1/2 swing joints then I would use 3/4 tt coupler 3/4 x 1/2 tt bushing 1/2 nipple closed |

Only thing I could find was a 3/4mpt x 1/2 fpt street el which is the opposite.
I did find a stainless steel 3/4fpt x 1/2 mpt street el for $8 tho

Ok - what am I missing here? Isn't it still female thread at the fitting? And female thread at the head? If you are not using swing pipe ells or a swing joint, and are just doing a riser, why won't a 1/2"x3/4" MxM work? Or they make 1/2"x3/4" cut off risers, not that I use these, but they are available.

Replace it with a 5000, throw the 3500 in the trash where it belongs.

Most of the work that I do is repair / maintenance; not new installs.
The only time I downsize a rotor is when it should have been a smaller rotor in the first place. I run across many that are too big and chocked all the way down. I also change to the smaller rotor if the landscape has changed. Thanks for all of the replies. Sprinkus, I ordered some of the Spears 446-074. Thanks for the link. Thanks again to all, Mex |

Mini rotors are awful. I won't even stock them. Poor reliability, and I hate their spray patterns. I can usually get a 5000 to work with the LA nozzles and knock down the spray. The 3500 also has too much blow-by at the wiper seals, quite often causing the zone to not come up.
