Gave a quote yesterday!

This guy seemed a little odd from the beginning, as it turns out...a bit of a hothead!

As soon as we get into his backyard I see 4 huge piles of s**t (he has a great dane). Anyways I go on to tell him my price, he agrees. Then I ask him what is going to be done about all the s**t on the yard! He says he has someone coming to pick it up this week. I say ok, and then tell him if theres any s**t on the grass, I will not cut it. Well, he freaked and said no no im not runnin around makin sure stuff is ready for someone else, (lots of dog toys on the yard too). I kindly said no problem, I guess were done here!, and went on to explain my reasoning for it. Just simply said I dont want to step on s**t or get it on my lawnmower and transfer it to my other clients lawns. He did have a nice lawn out front though. Some people are so damn lazy it actually makes me mad. If you own a pet, clean up after it! F**K!!! Glad it turned out the way it did. Lets here some more similar stories!

I have a customer with a great dane who doesnt clean up the piles very often. I just use my old toro 21 and hose it and my boots off on site. I get paid very well to put up with it so I dont mind.

You can't get upset with the homeowner for not cleaning up after his dog since the dog is dumping on it's own property. You made the right decision by turning down the job.

I took a lazy prissy naggy senile old ***** on this year with a fenced back yard. Shes got two little piss turd dogs the size of a lollipop that **** endlessly around her yard. Of course she doesn't pick it up but always says "If I knew you were coming today I'd have that poo all picked up for you." which I always reply "Yep, been comin on Mondays since April." Anyway, long story short. I was line trimming along the fence...swiftly walking, trimmer down, head down, right into a pile that one of the little bastard **** face dogs left for me. Well, you ever been hit in the face with a rock while trimming? It's sorta like that only it smells alot worse. You know the saying. "Smells like ****, tastes like ****, it must be ****!" I was none too impressed.

I always tell people that story when they whine about how bad they got it. I called my wife after it happened and she didn't believe me. I told her sometimes we all have to eat a little **** from time to time.

You made yourself seem weak when you tried to explain to him. If he went off on you, just say see ya. Don't give excuses...just walk away.

I charge $10 per dog per week. That is $20 for bi weekly. Customers love to pay for pick up when they hate doing it.

The type person who wants to tromp around in the back yard picking up dog doo is probably going to mow their own lawn.

It's not that difficult to avoid stepping in it. I get enough on my boots worth thinking about maybe once a year. Just walk in the path behind the mower, you should be able to see anything big coming up as you mow.

Get a rider.

Toughen up, Gen Y. It won't kill you. Or get an office job if you don't like to chance getting dirty.

One of my weed/fert. customers has 4 dogs and a fenced in back yard. He mows it himself (has a comm. Toro ZTR). So, if I get anything on me, it'll be on my shoes.

For what he's paying, I'll hose 'em off.
