Ferris yanmar diesel

We tested out the ferris with the 60" deck 24hp yanmar diesel. It was a great machine and was smoothe as glass compared to our hustlers & bobcats.

The one thing that got me was the 22" tall tires. All other models had 25-26" tall tires. Why did they put the smallest tires they offer for a Z on this model?

We've been mowing roughly 25-28 acres weekly with a 2 60" z's & a 48" wright stander.

The one 60" bobcat is worn slap out and its time to replace. We are looking for something fuel effecient and a more comfortable ride. I've considered exmark w/kubota, ferris/yanmar, snapper pro/yanmar, kubota & john deere 997/yanmar.

scag & kubota locally are in the 14K range at best. The ferris & snapper were the most affordable. John Deere parts locally are SUPER expensive. And exmark & john deere want an arm and a leg.

I've considered Hustlers small diesel 60"Z but wasen't really impressed with our local dealers customer service.

Any suggestions?

I believe its outfitted on the IS2000Z frame. To me, it sounds like you are wanting the IS3100Z or mower of it's size. I don't see the advantage with buying the IS2500 with a diesel, the 30/32 vanguards are lighter and get great fuel economy.

Havent seen any with 25-26" tires. New Bobcat Procats or Scag Turf Tigers have 24" tires. The higher end Ferris machines like the 3100 and 5100 have larger tires. The reason the 1500/2000/2500 have smaller tires is they are based on a smaller frame and need the room for the suspension to move. If they had bigger tires you would have to get rid of the suspension in the back.
