Tags in a Post

Underneath the text box when making a new post, it has a field called 'tags' and says that you can add 5 tags to the thread. What does that mean and how will it be used?

I assume that tags are keywords for the thread. Does anybody use these?

yes, they are key words, or "tags" for that specific thread or post

I assume "tags" are for you to mark certain threads so you can find them again? If not, what are they for and how do you use them?

yes, that is what they are for...then you are able to search for those tags just like you can do a regular search for threads/posts here on the site

when you start a thread, you will see the option for "tags" right below the box where you enter your message, above the "Submit Thread" button

So tags can't be applied to other's posts? I've stumbled upon the a"FAQ" section, I'll try to do some homework!!
