Types of Lime?

I know there is powdered lime, granular lime, and pelletized lime.

Anyway, I went to my supplier and bought a PH meter and I am about to offer fall lime applications.

In the past I have used the pelletized lime in my rotary spreader. The granular lime and pelletized lime is $4.00 retail and does 1,000 sf a bag. So a 10,000 sf lot would need 10 bags @ $4 for $40.

The supplier told me they also now have what I remember they called an encapsulated lime. One bag at $16 would do 10,000 sf.

Would someone please tell me the difference, advantage, disadvantage, and what ever I need to know about lime so I will do right by my customers?
