i read a study on the diferent firms results, the industry average was somewhere in the 70 percentile if I remember correctly. InfoUsa, the company I used was high 80's but they do cost more too.

The only information I saved was a faxed quote. From 11/11/99.
Header reads Experian---Metromail-SBAC
quote was for all single family homes in a zip or zips
$250 minimum for 10,000 records
$55 for self adhesive labels
Lady I dealt with was a local representative, no local office.
Originally found them in the yellow pages.

We do appreciate everyone's concern regarding purchasing stale leads. We start the data entry and confirmation process for our quarterly venture capital research reports during the last month of every quarter and we continue the data entry and confirmation during the first two weeks of the subsequent quarter. Therefore, when our report are released, none of the information, including names, websites, executives, emails, etc., are guaranteed not to be more than 7-8 weeks old. The vast majority of the information in the reports is no more than 2-3 weeks old.

are names really that important???

are names really needed?
this may be a stupid question...but i often recieve business postcards addressed to "occupant" or "resident" and to be honest, it really makes no difference to me who its addressed to when i receive it..if its a good deal, ill call...for example, i get post cards from the oil lube places advertising oil changes for 12.95 and they are never addressed to me personally, just "current occupant" . On that note, i have received postcards/advertisments with someone elses name and then the phrase "or current resident"........

i guess what im trying to ask is, do you think it really makes a difference if they see their own name on the address label? will this entice them to call?

It is my opinion that it is not a big deal, but I think the more personalized you make your mailing the more likely they are to respond.

You are right that it wouldn't matter on alot of things such as the oil lube, however, an oil lube deal is different from lawn service, we try not to sell on price but on quality, or personalized service.
