Ron clearly has issue with these HEO schools. While I know nothing about them, the concept seems solid to me. The biggest issue I see is your timing. There are a lot of seasoned operators sitting at home watching Oprah right now, not sure what you opportunities are getting hired once your done but, you have a chance to get quality (I assume) instruction on a range of equipment. It would take years to get that with an excavation company and unless you lucky it most likely would not be quality. You might finish the school and still have to run a shovel (which is a good thing actually) but you still will have experiece that only well oiled guys would have. Good luck with it.

Hey, I run a shovel, and I've been at this for 17 years full time. Actually, I like running shovel.
