This is my first season doing leaf cleanup with a vacuum. Its looking like rain tomorrow so wasnt sure how many of you do big leaf cleanups in the rain? I've raked before in the rain, but never blow and suck. Anyone?

wet leaves = waste of time. Better when dry

Better off when dry. You can do it but may be a headache. Depending on your vac.

Wet leaves mulch real easy, no dust no blow out.

Well, there is no dust, but if you're bagging it will clog a lot and if your mulching it will tear the yard up. You better have a powerful blower to.

I don't have a vac yet but if I did I would not work in the rain but I would give it a try once the rain stops.

Thing is to go slow to prevent plug/jam ups.

For me being I work solo or with a retired friend I could afford to get 4 hr work done in 8 hr. Someone running a big truck and crew could wind up losing money.

But my incentive is that instead of being a day behind, my schedule would only be a half day behind. And, the thing is at the end of leaf season total money is based on the number of jobs done.

Sitting home hurts the bottom line.

I won't even bother trying! Wet leaves will just clog your machine and it will be a hassle. Dry leaves will be better.

I will use the blowers when it's wet/raining but not the mower/bagger.

I was out today in light rain blowing leaves to the woods and it was fine until it really started to come down. I did manage to get the lawn I was on done though. I specifically picked that lawn to work on today knowing it would be wet...it's not very big and is surrounded by woods so I didn't have to blow far. It helps to have powerfull blowers or you won't get anywhere. It actually seemed to go quicker than usual because controling the leaves was no problem.
