97 Bunton 52" hydro HELP!

I just bought a 97 52" Bunton hydro mower with no motor. Guy i bought it off took the motor off and put it on his blown up scag got it for real cheap. anyways since theres no motor im not sure of the shaft size im pretty sure its a 1" shaft i just dont know the length. Cant seem to find it online anywhere. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks

Yea looks like everything there. but i have a dealer the sells buntons about 20 minutes away so that should make things a little easier. Going to call them today and see if they can find the shaft size

If everything is there, whats the size of the hole in the pulley's that go on the shaft?

its an 1" with a keyway but i assumed the length of the shaft mattered so that all the pulleys would be even.

Best thing to do is to get a hold of the guy ya got it from and see if he can give ya the mod/sn etc. off the engine that he robbed.
You might could try looking on Buntons site ( if avail) and see what motor was avail for your mowers mod & sn. Then get the dimensions off the motor mfg. site. The length of the shaft is important, especially if you have an elect. clutch which is usually secured by a bolt in the crank end.

yea i called a dealer the sells motors for lawn mower and he told me the shaft length dosnt matter... which doesn't make much sense to me at all. The guy i bought it off sold the mower he put it on so he wouldnt be much help either. anybody got a hydro bunton that wants to measure there shaft? would a twin briggs 15hp be under powered for this mower?

If the mower has manual blades, as long a the crank is long enough to line up both pulleys,
The shaft length is not as important.
If it has an electric clutch. You might want the right length.
15 hp is pretty low. Id keep looking.

yea it is a manual clutch so im assuming you can just put spacers under the motor mounts till its even? Not planning on running it next year to much of a hassle getting parts and what not. figure if i throw the 15 on there which is 100 bucks i should be able to sell it for more since i paid close to nothing for the deck. what you think its worth i see some older buntons like mine going for 500+ in my area even belt drive?
