Also I wouldn't try to "hook" a mower through a gate because the tires will tear up the grass when you're trying to pivot and maneuver the mower through the gate. It might not hurt the turf the first time you do it but it will eventually as you'll have to place the mower the same exact way every week when you're trying to maneuver it through a small gate
I had the 40'' floating and you are absolutely correct. If you werent cutting just a little off the grass, it would clump up like a b**** due to the small 3 blade deck.

The 36, if you are looking at any bigger measure it, not all 36's are 36 or 42 for that matter, so you might be able to slide through with one model of a 42, but not another - I have no gate problems but I do have a rose arbor which I put in,it measure 37 at the bottom, with a carefull line up I slide right through.

I think I am going to look into a 36" walk behind then. I am a big fan of Toro's t-bar system but does anyone have a review of the 36" walk behind from toro? Also I might be interested in the exmark 36" floating deck walk behind. I pretty want a kawi on any mower I get though if exmark offers that?
Thank you for all the input!

32" Ferris or Simplicity single hydro mower is a good choice for backdoor gates issues. It is well built, it leaves a nice cut, its light and its the same price as a Toro gear belt. It doesn't clump in wet grass.

If I were you I would ask myself:

1-Will buying a new mower will save me time to do more money? If yes, how much more?

2-Does it worth the investment?

3-What is my budget?

4-Do I have to purchase another trailer for my new mower? If yes, how much would it cost? Would it be profitable?

4-Does my dealer and the brands he holds are good or not? If yes, stick to it. If no, change.

5-What type of mower/deck size I need?

6-Read a lot of threads about the mower(s) you want

7-Try to get a good deal and enjoy

If you need info about 32" ferris, ask me

We have then too here in Minnesota. Hate them. But either you price it to your liking, or pass on it.

I can back you up about the small 24" gates and was curious why the property owner decided to go with such a small gate when the back yard was a little under 1/2 an acre.
