Working for school districts

What are the most successful/unsuccessful interactions you have had working with schools. Anything from trying to get work, budgets, or not happy with work.

I worked on some bids with a buddy for a contract to cut 67 schools. All I can is, the lowest bidder always wins!

I've done snow removal for school districts.

They were broke down into zones, each zone was clouded in an area and had say 25 schools.

The thing you have to remember is although it's one company you are getting paid for, you're trying appease 25+ different managers. (janitors)

Each one has a different idea of how they like things done, etc... The payment, etc... was great. Always on time. But with the snow, lots of small complaints. Janitor 1 wants snow here, janitor 2 wants it over there.

Other than that, was great. But definitely high maintenance accounts when it comes to dealing with them.

We do business with three school districts and deal only with the facilities managers. I hear ya about the janitors complaining, we usually tell them to call their boss if they have a problem because that is who we answer to, not every janitor in every school. All in all they are great to work for, sometimes you will have to be at their beck and call during sports seasons or during snow events but all contracts have times like that.
