Anti blowout kit

I was just wondering if you offer a anti blowout kit for a 36RH? I have not tried a mulch kit yet, but with the discharge cover I get alot of blowout. I put a anti blowout on my XR7 Hustler and it made a huge difference, so I just thought I would check.

Thank you in advance, Bill

Bill,

There is no kit for this issue we usually only hear about this during leaf season and is usually corrected with a pitch change. The easiest solution is to weld a piece of steel (about 1 1/2" wide) on the the lip of the cutter deck between the two blades. I believe we may have some steel pieces pre cut that we could ship to you if you can get it welded in. Contact us directly at 301-360-9810.

Best Regards

I think you are talking about what I was going to do, I just wanted to check and see if you had one made especially for this.

What I have done on some mowers in the past that do not offer one is put a flat piece of steel along the bottom of the leading edge. This generally makes the blades a .25" or so above and wide enough to almost touch the blades. It seems to really eliminate the blowout and give more suction cutting higher. I just am not good enough at metal working to cutout a nice pattern between the blades where the gap is widest.

Thank you for your response, Bill

Bill,

Same idea, basically the plate stops the turbulent air from the blades passing each other from escaping the deck and causing the blowout. The piece we have is 7ga. steel and is 12" on one side and is cut at an angle on the ends so the short side is 8 3/4" and is about 1 3/4" wide.
