I am bumping this back up because I found another Walker mower for sale. It is a 2003 GHS 48" Diesel with 475 hrs for $3,500 Price sounds fair to me, but I haven't looked at it in person either. Opinions? Only problem is I don't always bag, usually only during spring clean ups and leaf season. So how can I use this mower in the summer without having to collect clippings? I know they make the No Catch Deflector, but for those who use these how do you avoid throwing clippings in mulch beds when turning, etc?

Thatis a great deal! Is it a 18 or 21 hp engine? Mine was $16,000 new 1000 hours ago. No way would I sell it for less than $10,000. I haven't noticed any wear in the hydros yet. Unless they have been opened you should get 500 to 1000 more hours out of them. Sounds like it was used privately and the owner doesn't know what it is worth. Unless you see a major issue buy it. I love mine.

You can get a mulching deck for it.

You can test the hydro performance by using the machine for 30 minutes or so. Worn hydros will not work as well when hot. With cold oil they all perform like new. I mention this in case the clock was replaced.

3,500 is a steal, that kubota motor will go AT LEAST 3500 hours and the hydros should last 2k hours if they aren't abused.

Grease Points - check and see if they have any grease on them? The only way I know to tell if they are good is use a grease gun and see if they accept any grease. Deck Gearboxes - check for leaking fluid and broke shear pins? Wiring Harness - what do I look for here? Burnt or cut wiring? Pulleys - check for play/wear? |
