99 F-350

I am looking to buy a 99 F-350 xlt 6 speed Diesel 4x4 with a Short wheel box and a single wheel rear end. This truck has 140,000 miles on it. The owner is asking $14,800. I am needing some suggestions on what to offer. I will be paying cash for the truck so hopefully that will help on getting a good price. Right now I am thinking the top dollar I would pay for the truck is $13,800.

Go to kellybluebook.com
I ran some numbers not knowing the options of this truck. They saw this truck could be worth $19,000. A little steep if you ask me, but these trucks do hold their value.

Personally I would rather have a 2000 or newer. The first units in this body style had a few bugs that got worked out by the time they got to 2000 models. My truck has been very trouble free. I would think that around the $14000 mark would be a fair market value.

Have a 2K F350 PSD now. Not one problem since I bought it.
Good luck. They are great trucks.

Well I finally got my new truck. It is a 2001 F-250 4x4 Powerstroke Diesel. I had to drive 5 hours to get it but it was worth the drive. It only has 12,000 miles on it and was kept in a garage by the grandpa who owned it. I will get the picture of it on here soon. BTW I am only 19 and I almost have this rig paid for I am so excited about that!!

Good job Bill....

Sounds like a heck of a deal. Enjoy the PSD and take care of it.
She'll give you many years of happiness if you do.
Congrats.

Bill, you didn't say what you paid for the '01 F250. Was it near what you wanted to pay for the '99 F350?

I'm looking for a 3/4 ton myself and interested to see what kind of deals others are getting. Look forward to the pics of your new truck. GOod luck.

Good job Bill. Although I'd prefer a Dodge, I can certainly appreciate a good low mileage Powerstroke. Especially at 19 years of age. Congrats. I might suggest that you do what I do and keep a log book of all service work, fuel fill ups, etc. That looks good to potential buyers should you ever decide to resell. It'll also help you know if there's any problems - if fuel mileage goes down dramatically.

Well, I have done lots of work to the stroker and man is she runnin' good. I have to tell yall about the sticker I found though. It says in probably 2 inch letters. "if your gonna stroke it, POWER STROKE IT!" I love it but i dont think i can put it on the work truck. Hope yall like it.
