I did it 2x an averaged it, I'll do it again but that Is sure putting down slot of water isn't it. Is it to much volume and shoul I speed up, put smaller nozzles on? Or what would u do? Im on same page as u with 1 chemical in the tank but having 2 or 3 still has me a bit confused. If I have 2 in the tank I sPlit the amount f water in half for each chemical right? So chemical (a) would get 12.5 gal an chemical (b) would get 12.5 gal correct instead of both chemicals gettin 25 gal each...

You are applying 88 ounces per minute. You are covering 1.7 thousand sqft per minute.
Dividing, you get about 52 ounces per thousand sqft.
That is about .4 gallon per thousand sqft.
Mix your chemical at 1.8 ounce for each .4 gallons of spray solution.
Keep at the same speed.

No I'm spraying 44 oz in 35 seconds out of 1 nozzle. I have 2 nozzles so I'd be spraying Bout 160oz in a min. Riggle

You rounded off you math. a 25 gallon tank will cover 36,360 sq ft or 36 1/3 K times 1.8 equals 65.45 oz of product per 25 gallon tank

Once you have your Boom calibrated the rest is rather simple. You now know your 25 gallon rig covers 36.3 K. Half Fill your tank and then Multiply 36.3 times the Per Thousand rate of what every you are applying. In this case it is 1.8 oz to get 65.45 oz If it were 0.75 0z Times 36.3 = 27.225 or 27 1/4 oz etc then fill your tank to the 25 gallon mark.

A 10% error is acceptable as a human factor when applying. However that Human error should be in application error not a math mixing error.

Your 25 gallon tank holds 3200 ounces.
You will cover 3200/88 or 36 thousand sqft per tank.
You need 1.8 times 36 equals 65 ounces per tank.

Do not reduce the amount of the other products. Add enough of each product to cover 36 thousand sqft.

Lol excatly, great that's what numbers I've got as well. Ok thanks for straightening out addin more than 1 chemical and how to calculate the proper amount for it as well.

If like the Ga test don't spend much time in that section...get the app for your phone from UGA or use study materials when you start applying.

I wouldn't have jumped in except. I was even confused by the answers being given and I used to Teach Material Calculation at my local college. Over thinking a problem can be the Problem.

I guess I need to start all over. I installed a new pump on my 60 gal 3 pt sprayer and don't remember the nozzles installed plus don't want to go buy new one's. I guess the only way to test is to start by filling the tank with water, set my PTO speed to 960 RPM, set the pressure relief to 15Psi, mark off 100 ft, Set the Diesel tractor speed to 2250 RPm, shift to low gear, then see how much water sprayed. After this exerise i can determine the amount of gal disbursed then devide the area covered into 44000 and multiply the result by gal disbursed for gal per acre. I guess some where in the calculation I need to figure in the width of my boom.
Some where I am missing something and need some help as my brain is fried and I don't want to kill the Bahia......Only the weeds.

another question

Another question, Since the sprayer is 3 pt about 7 ft long and with 7 nozzles, I can adjust the height of the nozzles off the ground. What would be the best heigth to set the nozzles? It would seem that a 7 ft boom would cut a path of about 10 ft so I would be doing about 1000 ft for every 100 ft traveled. If my gal disbursed is above/below the recommended spray amount per acre, is it better to adjust concentration of product, or pressure and retest? Water is cheap 24D is not
