is this guy a Scam?

I have had a lawn service for about 10 years now as a side job, put an add on craigslist for cheap lawn service at $25 a yard. A guy called me said he could give me 20-40 foreclosures that the bank pays you to keep cut (called property preservation). I met the guy and he showed me what all he did and the before and after pictures to take. paid me $30 for cutting a yard the size of my truck bed. anyone heard of something like this?

scam maybe, i think he won the contract and having you do the work while he sits on his rear end and cashes the check. gives you your cut, and keeps his. no headache with labor, repairs etc. happens alot, if thats the case the guy is pretty smart, and making $$ doing nothing.

If he is legit, he's making money managing sub-contractors, far from doing nothing.

There is a couple of agencys like that in the Tulsa area. They are legit and slow to pay. You have to take before pictures send them off and they will get you a price on doing the work. I had done some a few years back. But then they started putting them out to bid and the agencys I worked for would take any bid. Did not matter if you had insurance or license to do the work. So the bottom feel out. Can't make much on lawn care due to there so much trash the 1st time and then they put it on a month cycle. Can make money changing locks, securing the property and winterizing. Covering pools and such. On the paying part, their excuse was they would not pay until they received payment. Which would put you out 60 plus days, more closer to 90.
