My dead trees are really attracting insects to my property that are causing additional problems for my gardens. Just another item to add to the growing list of things I'm demanding to be compensated for. DuPont has reported they are pleased with how many of the 30,000 claims (in direct process) are accepting the offer. They estimate it will cost them $575 million. In comparison, analysts estimate for those with attorneys (lawsuits) it's between $3 to $4 billion. |

Star, thanks for keeping us up to date.
I've requested minutes from the EPA meeting and received confirmation that they would forward. I'd like to know what happened. I'll share when I get them. My 2 Willow Oaks are dropping dead leaves all over the front yard. Bushes are dropping needles. My garden not doing much. That's funny you mentioned the bugs, I noticed last night the pines on top look like something is stripping off bark in the dead areas and sappy stuff is leaking in the middle. I'd take a closer look but they are 40 ft plus tall. |

As far as the insect damage now appearing at the tops of your Imprelis weakened pines, the insect borer is a big problem for pines that are damaged. The larvae are under the bark and eat away. The small amount DuPont is offering for us to "maintain" the tree that wasn't rated bad enough (error) at the time of their visit, is a joke. The money would get easily spent just trying to fend off the insects and certainly won't cover what it costs to have it pruned. Then, what's left is a misshaped mess of a tree that I wouldn't want anyhow. |

Well, I know slightly more than I knew the last time I wrote. We received letters from our LCO today through our HOA president, saying he had contacted DuPont endlessly and finally someone called him to tell him the status of his claims. The letter states that there are 3 parts to the process: 1. 'Under Review' 2. 'Writing Phase', and 3. 'Final Stages'. The LCO made claims on 46 properties, of which two (2) are in the Final Stages, thirty four (34) are in the writing phase, and ten (10) are still being reviewed. Guess where our HOA is?? Yep, in the 'under review.' Not good enough, IMO. We're gonna get the big guns out now.

I'm starting to believe they don't even look me up before saying I'm in the final stages. Really thought they wanted to work with me.

No wonder DuPont wants us to sign their offer now. Just had an independent arborist, hired by the attorneys, do a full report on my property with the damage so far (still migrating and still doing damage). The initial 16 trees DuPont's site visit showed as damaged has now more than doubled in the amount of plants damaged. He said they still don't know how much futher it will do damage on my property and they don't know when it will finally stop or where. Sick.

Hello. I've been monitoring for some time and since I just had a site "visit" yesterday I can only add my disappointment and lack of interest the experts showed. The fact that I had damage to new trees and one 20 footer that was removed because of a hazard, that I can't add to my claim, makes me furious. Now I have to wait for a proposal, reject it, amend it and wait longer. I have between 8 and 15 damaged trees plus a centerpiece 75' Blue Spruce toasted.

Welcome to our personal Hell-o. Who did your visit? Did you have pics of your 20 footer before it was removed and who removed it?

I called a Davey Tree hazard tree specialist and he got in touch with a local MN Davey office. They came out, took pics and cut down five hazard trees and billed Dupont directly. One tree was not on the first claim filed by my LCO. The guys at the visit were from Davey and Stericycle (sp). I don't think many people know if they have trees that may be hazardous they can be expedited. Just need to document completely including taking your own pics.
