I guess it depends on what "ok" mpg is to you...I have run a 4500 with my last job and other trucks like it f550 f650 and so on..these are big trucks that weigh a lot and if you tow even less mpg...we got anywhere from 6 towing a 16ft trailer loaded with equipment to 9 on a good day not towing..my personal four door 4x4 2004 ram diesel gets 19 empty 21 on a very good day and keeping my foot out of it if i tow ..anywhere from 15 to 11.5 depends on what i am towing..my worst mpg yet is with my enclosed 36ft toy hauler 11.5 cant really complain about that..hope this helps..

My old bosses neighbor made tailgate assist from PVC, U bolts, garage door springs, pullies & cable. Worked nice, I have thought abt doing this to my trailer .

Bout $200 or a little less. Hey they really help. You can put up the gate with 1 finger. :-)

heres some of my newer 20' trailer. I built the water cooler rack, lift jeck and rack, double gate assist, bigg gascan rack, dethatcher,rear strobe lights, etc. As of right now, i have it set up to swap out 6 different equipment peices throughout the season.
