Sounds like a lot of you guys would be push mowing every yard you had that has a fenced in yard!

If you only had one choice I'd have to say 36". You'd be screwed if you had real big open areas but you would still be able to cut them. It would take you much longer but how much time would you lose using a 21" for all of those properties that have gates?

I guess the question could be looked at 2 ways. Vote based on the customer accounts you have now. What about if the vote was based on not knowing who your customers were going to be? Like starting a new business.

A 36 obvioulsy isn't the most productive and doesn't leave the best looking stripes compared to a 52, but at least you can cut just about everywhere with it.

For all of my accounts I have a 40 and a 52 I only have one account that the 40 won't fit and it's small anyway so the 21 there does just fine.

Same here. My perfect 36 would have large wheels inside the deck edge and full suspension and some big hp available. Three blade deck, rear discharge, bagger option. Propane would be nice too. The key is everything is less than 36 wide. I operate in the land of gates.

for the thread my suggestion is if only mower can be chosen get a 36" or 48" depending on your average gate sizes.

based on the properties I have now I'd still be fine choosing the 52" I currently use.

now as for these comments that creep up from time to time about a better cut from a 52" vs. a 60". I'm always confused. I've used pretty much all of your normal sizes in deck sizes, 21, 36, 48, 52, 60. the quality of cut is no better or worse if everything else is equal.

I use toros and exmarks. a 60" exmark deck will put down the same quality as a 52" exmark deck. same goes for between the my 36" and 52" mowers.

you guys must be cutting some awfully picky turf. because the turf I cut, will cut the same whether its a 21 incher or a 60 incher.

I can assure you different mowers have different cuts even from one 21" to another, I started out with a murray 21" my first couple of seasons, I bought a snapper last year and the difference was night and day, I hear a honda is even better, but I'm waiting on the new 30 toro commercial to come out for next year.

I often think that with my 21" mower targeting garden homes I could make more money...I got my eye on the 30" Toro also, even though Im about out of eqyiptment money.
