Gravely 34Z no spark?

Hey guys,

I have a Gravely 34Z (Model 992056) (Serial 000142) that has been giving me a few problems recently.

Last week the pto started acting up,The blades would not engage right away but after leaving the pto switch on and riding around for a few minutes they would start working.

Well that only lasted a short while before it gave out completely on Saturday.

Fast forward to this morning when i decided to get it off the trailer so i could check the gap on the clutch. It would not start so i did some basic troubleshooting and found that neither spark plug was firing.

I find it very unlikely that both coils would give out at the same time so i looked for for anything obvious like unplugged connectors and such but found nothing.

It was running fine when i put it on the trailer Saturday evening but nothing now.

Can anyone tell me where to start to find the problem? Could the no start and pto troubles be related?

Btw,I replaced the battery about three weeks ago because the old one would not stay charged. The new one seems to be holding up fine for now.

Thanks.

Found the wiring diagram online and traced it back to a faulty starter relay.Replaced said relay and that took care of both issues.

Thanks anyway.
