2011 X-One Gas Hog??

I recently bought a 2011 new Hustler X-One 26Hp, 54" VX4 deck tractor. I own 1/3 of an acre. I mowed it twice and have used 5gal of fuel. Is this normal?? My normal tractor I sold to buy this I would use 1/2 the fuel. Please Help!!

This sounds hi. Mickhippy on here fiqured 1.88 gallons per hr. on the Kaw 31 hp SZ. How many hrs. are on your mower? It should get better after brake in but that sounds extreme. Any leaks?

WELL I REALLY SHOUDN'T ANSWER THIS BUT MY NAME SAYS IT ALL!!! I thought the dealer had been nice and completely filled on side for me BUT he didn't! He had only put and a gallon or 2 in it. That was why I ran out so quick with the one side. I filled it completely today and cut a lawn and used around a gallon. Thanks for the help!!! I am a ROOKIE and have some POLISH in me so does that make me doomed??!!!

I just bought a Super Z with the 31hp.
Mine does seem to use a lot of fuel compared to my 25hp on my other Z.

Funny side note....
I picked the mower up and went to a full service gas station, told the guy to fill up the yellow mower.
He came back with a pissed off look on his face and said "Very Funny", $1.20.
Apparently the dealer fills all new mowers up.

Yeah my dealer told me that if there wasn't a need for the extra HP, the 25hp is fine. I can't imagine the 37HP!!!!!
