New Flyer

Hi everyone I would like every-ones opinion and advice on my flyer that I am making. It is still a work in progress, but I am trying to get stuff together and ready for next year. I have a couple apartment management companies that I would like to get next summer. I have give a couple of them a call, they all told me to email or fax them a flyer. So here is the flyer I have been working on. Please give me all you comments good or bad. Thanks

It needs to be much easier to read.

If this is a two sided flyer, have your contact info and company name on both sides. Also, list your website. If you don't have a website, get one.

The photo of the lawn looks out of focus to me and the photo on the bottom right is very hard to make out what it is…could just be how it is coming across over the internet.

Sometimes, less is more. If you can't deliver your message in about 3 seconds, your message is too long…

Absolute Lawn & Landscapes

Complete Lawn & Yard Care
Retaining Walls, Fences and Much More…
Residential & Commercial

Call
715-760-1311

Show off only your best photo/work.

If you are emailing a "flyer" to a specific potential client, send them a custom "flyer" that addresses their need/needs…don't market "retaining walls" and "fence installation" to them if they are only interested in lawn service and shrub trimming. If you want their business include a bid/proposal.

Agree with the above comments. It's also really hard to take a business seriously when they use the Comic Sans font. It's one of the Cardinal sins of design.

If you hit Google Image Search and search for "lawn care flyers", you'll see a ton of inspiration. It will also give you a good way to easily compare what looks good and bad.

I think the way you did the logo could use some tweaking to make it look more professional and not so 'I did it on my computer' kind of look. The letters A, L, and L look like they were drawn on your pc with Windows Paint program.

Im just being honest, not trying to be mean. We are all here to help. The flyer looks really outdated. The blue to green fading and the fonts just dont work. You want crisp and clean, easy to read. Just like Tony said, google some flyers and get ideas from there. And one last thing, in commercial work flyers are rarely used. When people think of flyers they think cheap work. Now a brochure is what is used more in the commercial field. You shouldnt send over a flyer, you should walk in and introduce yourself and hand them a brochure.

I completely agree with you SRT I have no hurt feelings on what anyone is saying. If I would have been concerned on what everyone was going to say about it I wouldn't ask for opinions. I have looked on google and got some ideas off of there. I also agree with the commercial aspect of the deal, my problem with a brochure unless I was to mail it to them is you talk to one of the receptionist and not the person in charge of the lawn care and landscaping part of it. I appreciate all the advice from everyone and keep it coming. I just wish I had the money to have someone design and build one for me. I am using printmaster and needless to say I don't have a good eye for making brochures or flyers. That is why I'm not in that industry.

You are headed in the right direction…

Use the photo as your background for the entire page…crop/adjust the size of the photo so it fits the whole page. Keep in mind that you do not have to use the whole photo…you can crop/adjust the size so that only a portion of the photo will appear on the flyer.

Try different colors for the font to see which stands out best…White usually works very well with a green lawn as the background.

Lose the "(along with)" and the "to get your free estimate" and all the "~".

Personally, Im not very fond of your logo. Think classy not cool looking. If you want to be taken seriously present yourself in a serious professional manner at all times…your logo should present a professional image.

Do an image search on Google for logos and you will see what I am talking about.

Consider playing off the initials A L L

Call

Absolute
Lawn &
Landscapes

For

ALL Lawn & Yard Care
ALL Retaining Walls
ALL Your Residential & Commercial Needs

Use the same font and same color for "ALL" and the "A" "L" & "L" in your logo.

Also consider shaping your logo like a pyramid/triangle.

………..Absolute
……..Lawn &
…..L a n d s c a p e

Not perfect but you get the idea

Keep the "A" "L" & "L" the same size and the same color and use a smaller size font and a different color for the rest of the words
