Do websites bring in any new customers?

Hi guys,

Been looking at some hosting plans and Im debating whether to get a website or not. Question is do they give you many new customers? Or is it just a place that potential customers can refer to, to see your work?

They bring in quite a few if you have them done right. If you do it yourself, I would look at using a wordpress site with an appropriate theme.

Most cost affective means of advertising for me and the greatest ROI by far.

My web site is less than 30 days old www.acutabovelynchburg.com so no in that google does not show it yet but i have won a bid that I wa higher because they liked that they could see my work.

Your website is missing some key items, such as a privacy policy, and site map. You should add a blog and hire a writer to put up some articles for you. It drives keywords to your site, as well as increases the sites size in the eyes of SE's/

If you havnt already claim your G places and bing page, optimize them till you get to 100%. Ask people for reviews and incorporate that into your site as well.

With the recent changes to G places im not sure how relevent it is going to be in the future to have your address listed on your site, but until people start saying not to do it, you should have your address on every page of your site, exactly matching your G places listing.

This cannot be overstated, and includes any place you are listed online (including the various directory services, such as the Yellowpages sites). Thanks for mentioning it, JB.

Lol you laugh but i had some tri folds made up and they had it on tbere as if you give a weed an inch ill take a yard. Still have 1k of useless try folds 4 years later.

I think a good website will be dollar for dollar the best way to bring in new customers that you can find.

My case is probably a little different than yours is since the contractor part of my business depends almost totally on new customers. Basically the only thing I do is hydroseeding and it is pretty much a one time thing. When I added my website, my business more than doubled. I rank very high on Google but don't get a lot of traffic. I do get more than a 50% conversion rate. In other words about half the guys who visit my site call for a quote and I get the job from about 80% of those who call.

I have a simple 5 page web site that I did myself. The cost was almost nothing. Everyone who wants to grow their business should have a web site.
