New truck, and it's a F-O-R-D

I'm going to see if I can post a picture. It's a '97 F350 Powerstroke, 5 speed, with a real nice 12' foot steel flatbed. It is a real clean one-owner truck that I stumbled upon by accident.

And just for the record, I still prefer my Dodge!!

Looks good man. I am glad that I told you to buy it.

I really think if you had a new style of Ford truck and put it beside your Dodge the only thing you really would have against the Ford is the engine. Other wise I know the rest would win hands down.

But hey a Dodge is good. It helps to keep the prices down thru competition.

Nice truck I wouldn't mind having it if it was a F-Superduty (1.5 ton) I would want it even more because they are a tougher truck.

The problem with 350s is they can only pack 3 ton which is pretty heavy with a F-Superduty I have carried 4.5 ton and they handle 3 ton like nothing. The other problem is the 2wds have coil springs which I really detest for heavy hauling you put any weight forward of the rear axle the front wheels disapear in the wheel wells. If I was gonna buy another 350 it would be 4x4 the solid front axle and leaf springs handle loads alot better plus the extra traction of 4x4 is nice.

Good luck with the truck what are you gonna use it for you probably wouldn't be hauling heavy loads of gravel with it like I do with my trucks. That truck would be good for carting around tools and hauling supplies etc if you keep the loads under 5000lbs you should be fine.

Nice ride Randy...

You'll get many years of reliable service.

Paul had something to do in your decision?

Ok now this hurts! Having to admit I went to Paul for advice
Since he's such a Ford nut (emphasis on NUT!), I emailed him some questions about it.
I guess I also have to admit that I also looked at a '96 Dodge stakebed, and opted to keep the Ford. This truck is super clean! And I'm actually enjoying driving it. I'd still prefer a Cummins, but there's nothing wrong with this Ford!
