California Trimmer...It's back, baby!
I just got a call from a company about 20 miles from me in Auburn, WA saying they're going to start producing reel mowers branded California Trimmers (not Eastman trimmers) next month! I'll definitely be stocking them.
Check out their website...it's really slick! caltrimmer.com I know reel mowers aren't huge on Lawnsite, but they've always been a necessity on landscape trailers in my area and tons of homeowners (including myself) use a 20" around here, which they're also producing again! This is really cool. Accelerator catchers are made not far from there, too. Go Puget Sound! It might not be "California", but it's a lot closer than Maine! |

Trimmer mowers
Nick, My wife and I started our lawn care business over 16 years ago. I purchased a 25" commercial that was rebuilt and had a Honda GX160 installed on it. I am still using it and have also purchased a rebuilt 20" HD unit. A good friend of mine gave me another 25" HD unit with a Honda G42 engine on it.
The carb has a stripped out bolt on it so am looking to replace the engine on this one. I never have the blades sharpened, but just have them back lapped. Can't beat the cut on Bermuda!!! |

This is new. California Trimmer was bought out by Eastman 5 -10 or so years ago but they had been marketing it under the California Trimmer name. I see they now are using the Eastman name now. http://eastmanind.com/eastmancommerc...0/Default.aspx
Is there someone new who owns them now? Are they actually made in WA? Considering there's a hover mower (never a Trimmer product) on the California Trimmer site it looks like there's a reciprical agreement, or a private labeling agreement going on. It's always been a quality product.

This is definitely a new development. No more Eastman Trimmer. They're going back to "California Trimmer", and I believe the new company is being headed up by one of the former guys from Eastman. And yes, they are being made in Washington!
