Thanks. I expect the wife will take a swing at me when she finds out the cost, but that will be after it is already delivered.

Dealer wants $5600 + tax for the 48, $5800 for the 54" and those prices are basically bottom line. The extra $200 seems well worth it, but thought there would be a little more wiggle room on the price.

Heh. This is more or less being thrown in as an argument for spending more to get a better product.
Here's my Husqvarna homeowner model (RZ5424) on the day it was returned, along with the Ferris commercial walk behind that replaced it. ![]() I got the Husky at a Sears Outlet brand new marked down to $1,990. Nothing but problems from the time it was delivered. I got it in the winter and only got to run it outside a few times (when it would run) - never cut a blade of grass. I got disgusted and returned it, then spent $4,750 on the Ferris. It was a wise decision. |

Thanks. I realize you have to pay to play, was just hoping their may be a little wiggle room of a few hundred dollars in there on the price. It was like this is the price, take it or leave it. In the overall picture a few hundred dollars doesn't kill the purchase, but it would buy a lot of gas for the season.

I pulled the trigger today on the Hustler 54". Got it for the price of the 48. Should be here by the end of the week, can't wait.

Congrats! You will love it. Just installed the flex forks on mine this week and looking to add the stripe kit in the future.

Thanks. I was going to go for the forks and mulch kit, but figured I would make a few cuts first and see how she rides. I generally always mulch with the lawn tractor because when I discharge it clumps pretty bad if the grass is a long. I am leaving the back a little longer than normal so I can put it to the test immediately
I have to do a little more research, not sure how the factory blades are. I figure I will try them first, the gators work nicely on my LT when I am only cutting a small amount off and discharging. Last edited by 87SS; 05-17-2012 at 08:02 AM. |
