dodge truck

hi
i'am looking at 2 trucks
2003 dodge 2500 heavy duty automatic 4x4 with a cummins with 78000 miles for 23999
or
2007 dodge 2500 sport automatic 4x4 with a cummins with 74000 miles for 30999
from what i've read was the 2003 really built to tow in over drive on the highway above 60mph
they say you can but if the tranny is hunting between gears turn overdrive off and also on long down grades they also say to turn off overdrive
i will be towing my 7000pd. landscape trailor
please let me know your thoughts on both trucks please
thank you

Trucks vary greatly by region, so what may be overpriced in ur area may not be in some elses region.

Back on topic, if the 07 has the 6.7 I wouldn't get it, heard they had bugs in the first years of the 6.7

if the 07' is the 6.7l i would go for the 03' with the 5.9l. both are definitly over priced in my opinion. i have the 6.7l in my dually and love it, but i heard they had a few bugs in the first year of the 6.7l (which is the second half of 07')

You can get a new 4x4 cummins automatic with 0 miles for $37k-39K, for a lightly optioned work truck. $31K for a 5-6 year old truck with 74K miles on it is overpriced anywhere, IMO. But I'm about 2 hours away from the OP, so I would consider myself in the same region.

It seems like the dealers, particularly used only dealers, think that any diesel truck is worth its weight in gold. I'll agree that some are "worth" more than they should be do to a particular engine-year-options etc. But some are out of control.

I stopped to look at an 01 Ford (250/350 dont remember) crew cab xlt 4x4 7.3 automatic that looked clean for an 11-12 year old pickup. Price= $23,000

I bought my Ford, same truck just reg cab, last year for $11,000 and I was worried that I paid too much.
