Hey Richard, would you happen to know why I now hear a screech sound when I engage the blades after installing new ones? Blades don't hit eachother or the deck.

Put the old ones back on and see if it still does it.

I got a 32 ferris 2011, a 21 honda, a 21 toro and a 48 toro. I have to say that the ferris is the worse mower I have. The mower doesnt leave a beautiful cut. The thumb controls get your thumbs really tired after a couple of weeks/months. Mine were completed exploded after last season. You have to help mower to turn which isnt cool when you work with the mower alot, it can bring you some arms/back pain. We had problems with the mulching kit that was leaving an uncut line of grass between both blades. They tried everything to fix the problem but we were force to remove the mulching kit. During the season our belts for blades broked 5 times over 300-400 hours of work. Overall dont buy this mower, trust me.

thanks Richard, I was loading up the truck for tomorrow and engaged the blades a few times...and it wasnt as bad as when I first tried it. I will put the old ones back on this weekend and then give an update.

Most likely what you're hearing is the clutch squealing. Make sure you engage and disengage the clutch at 1/2 throttle or less. You're also supposed to check the clutch clearance at 100 hours. If you feel uneasy about how to do that just have your dealer do it.

Well, I havent been on here much lately. havent had the internet either for about 3 weeks. I just finished making the trimmer trap for the hydro-cut. heres a pic for now. I will get up more pics later when i find some free time. i will also give a write up of material used, how i made it, and the cost. More details soon....hopefully!
