Bonide AnnualTree and Shrub insect control question

Hey guys. My grandfather has a small orchard, mostly apple, with a few cherry andplum trees. He always sprays with Seven for insects. Today i gave him a hand applying this tree and shrub insecticide by Bonide, and in the directions it says itll work for fruit trees. Will a once annual application of this material work instead of spraying the Seven so often??
and how well does it work and when should it be applied. It doesnt say when to do it in the booklet.
