Pesticide License

I've decided to study and take the test(Applying Pesticides/Turfgrass) eventually. Was it difficult? I'm not going to take a class, I plan to study on my own time, then take the test.

Well I'm from SC and I passed it fairly easy, I did have to study though. There is still a lot that you won't know, as I'm finding out. It defintinely won't make you an expert in the field.

Did you take a class, or just studied at home? How many questions, and is there an annual fee to keep the certification?

There are two parts! the general knowledge section has a 100 questions, the cat 3 section has 30 questions I if I remember right, yes you have to renew every year and keep up your credits throughout the year.

Was getting certified worth it? Adding pre/post emergent, would you say is very easy to do?

Any knowledge, is better than no knowledge and it looks good to the customers and for marketing purposes. It helps set you apart from the kid next door and the lowballer down the street to. Yes, to me it's just another part of being legit and a professional, just like having ins and a business license.
