What's wrong w/this lawn?

Anybody know could be wrong w/the lawn? The brown streaks are the same distance/size as our mower tires.

We are in MN and it hasn't been overly hot or dry, so I don't think it's weather related.

Lawn is 1 year old.

The homeowner thinks it's caused by fertilizer, but there were 3 weeks between fertilizer application and when the streaks started showing up, so I'm not sure if that's the cause. (if it is, we have no problem fixing it)

Thanks

We're cutting at 3.5"

I don't see anything in the neighboring lawns.

Could be a couple things.

You mowed after it was sprayed or Chemicals are on you wheels. The lawn isn't brown so we can rule out a stressed lawn from the mower.

Did you spray the lawn for weeds?

Is the soil hard, maybe the tires crushed the pellet slow release fertilizer causing more to be release in path of the tracks.

We have not sprayed for weeds.

Granular fertilizer was applied 4-23-12. This happened sometime between 5-16-12 and 5-21-12. We have mowed weekly since before the fertilizer was applied.

Sorry for being short. Just trying to get your questions answered to see if anybody has ideas quickly.

Looks like it may be a fungus. Easily spread by tires.

I agree with TMlawncare. It is most likely a fungus that has been spread by the mower wheels. Take a look at the grass blade. If it is only brown on the top half or so, then it is a fungus. It will recover over a 2-3 week period. Just cut high (about 3") and minimize watering. Ascochyta Blight is a common fungus in MN. I live in WI and see it all the time. Hope this helps.
