I came across this thread by searching the site today (had to register to do so).

We are running out of line and I need to buy some. I am getting tired of paying $27 for 3 lbs. of extruded nylon, what a ripoff (Royal Edger here in Clearwater is about $27 for 3# spool, diamond cut .095). Although it is good stuff.

Searching online I found a lot of stuff that was actually priced higher. Especially when you factor in the shipping.

Doing a little maths (watch out! ), I came up with the following (from the above info, plus some of my own research):

Code:
Place #s price price per #
10 at a time 5 $28.63 $5.73
13# roll 13 $75.00 $5.77
FIS 3 $17.95 $5.98
mowpart.com 5 $37.75 $7.55
Royal 3 $27.00 $9.00
So, guys buying 10 at a time or the 13 pound roll are doing pretty good. Guy buying from FIS is not doing much worse, and sounds like you can buy one roll at a time at that price. I will have to call them and see if it's still good.

Anyone else know any other sources online (or elsewhere)? I might be willing to buy a case or other larger quantity if the price was good enough.
