is it still ok to fertilize my lawn with weed and feed

I live in northern Illinois and was wondering if it was still ok to weed and feed my lawn even though its getting pretty warm

Especially, when it will likely have some 'cide in it, which is never good for 'thriving' plants...

Most important for summer is don't mow it short enough for the sun to shine on the soil... even longer if you do not irrigate...

Milorganite shouldn't burn and may not even get used, if the conditions are too hot and dry...
