Idea's on my site?

What do you think of my web-site, any idea's or what I should add or do to it. Or my Facebook for that matter?

If this is a DIY effort, you've got a start, just needs a lot of refinement for the search engines as well as your prospective customers.

Quick pass and the first thing I'll offer is that it's reeeally not easy to read. The narrow layout, small text, and similar font/background colors all contribute to this.

The code has a lot of issues.

There is no SEO to speak of.

I'd change the pic of your staff to one a bit more professional.

I didn't read it all (really not easy to do), but I saw quite a few typos when I did.

I'd use a variety of tools we've mentioned in other posts, including:

- SEOQuake plugin for firefox to look at your SEO issues
- http://validator.w3.org/ for the code validation problems

If you wander around in this forum you'll see a ton of review requests. Reading those would be really helpful to you as they're mostly applicable to your learning process.

Anything more specific, just yell.

1) I would caution strongly against linking to other sites that promote your competition. Instead of linking to angies list, why not put those reviews on your testimonials page that is currently blank.

2) Your 100% service guarantee button should like to a page that explains your guarantee. Currently it goes to a website that promotes other landscapers.

3) make sure to read through your content. There are some typos.

4) put your "our services" on the left bar where you have a blog roll. I don't think your blog roll ads any value to a visitor.

There is a lot of work to do here, but this will help you get started. I am glad you have decided to get a website going, it is a step in the right direction.

To close I would ask you to weigh your time and results verse a service that would provide you with a quality website. Your valuable time might be better spent doing another estimate or handing out some more flyers. It does not cost as much as you may think.

Best of luck to you.

Probably the #1 why reason would be copyright and/or Terms of service violations. Since AL makes money off of consumers paying for an account to be able to read and/or post reviews of contractors, my guess would be that they would not be happy to see you giving away their content for free.

I received a confirmation e-mail this morning from inquiring about it:

"Reviews on your Angie's List profile are strictly for our site"
