Annual profit percentage?

What would be a realistic profit percentage for a sole proprietor lawn maintenance company, after all operating expenses? Am I correct in dividing profit by operating costs to arrive at a profit percentage? For the past 5 years I have been running at around 55%. Is this a good % rate? Thanks for any input.
