Honestly i dont think ill go with another brand of blower, i wish i could still track down a new 8050, those were beasts too, the only others that are OK would be older shindaiwas and the stihl 380/420 Magnums and the BR600s, and the only thing i buy as far as trimmers/edgers go is shindaiwa, last company i worked for i had shindaiwas older then me still going out every day all day

i was never a big fan of echos but i wish they wouldnt of bought out shindaiwa, now they dont have any of there good models left, 242 is okay but i like the older 230/360/370/231/361/372s, which now they make none of haha, i wish i would of bought both of those redmax's when i did but live and learn i guess.

Ill be honest i just would always waite and save and go with what i wanted, ive never owned a non commercial blower or trimmer, unless it has been given to me by a customer, i just know how important reliability is from working on big crews my whole life, when you would carry 7 trimmers because you new something was bound to break haha.

ill be honest ive NEVER run a residential trimmer or blower period, my dad had his buisness doing lawns so we had all commercial stuff, and ive never strayed from it. Ive used probably every commercial brand out there, i just cant even imagine using one, i dont need throw away pieces of equipment, my dad still has the stuff he bought 25 years ago when he started out
