John Deere 777 VS John Deere z820a

I am debating between a JD 777 and JD z820a. I am buying from a local dealer and they are both around 6500 dollars in price and close to the same amount in hours. Which one do I choose? Pros and Cons? Thanks

Do a search on here under the deere 800 series and see all the problems they have had. Even an employ at my deere dealer told me they were having many of them returned with many problems.

I would agree with the above. I run a 777 with a MOD deck and it is a kick ass unit. Mine has a 27hp Kawi and there are no problems whatsoever. I've heard others on here that demo'd the new 800 series were not too happy with it. Maybe JD will fix those problems in time, but the 777 is a strong machine.

I have the 777 at my house now and am very happy with the cut quality. I love the M.O.D feature. I mow about 5 acres and the only reason I was considering the z820a was because of the newer model year.

Get the 777 or I will drive up there and get it myself. After demoing two different 800 series last year I asked the dealer to get me a couple of the 777's....no regrets.

I have an 820 and couldn't be happier with it. I read all the bad reviews....tried it and took the plunge. I bought it about a month ago.
It has the improvement kit installed. When I bought it the dealer said the problems were with the early ones and still the 810's.
Good luck with your choice!

I demoed the 830 and it is hand down better than the 777. Dont get an 820 go 830 0r 850. 820 =54 inch 830 =60 850 = 60 inch extreme use 860=72 inch. I have a 757/60 and a 777/72 . I posted a thread on the 830.
