Espalier

Here's an espalier I'm doing with sea plum or pigeon plum if you will.....getting there. Has a nice shape to it so far.

I like those. When I was in Italy, we would cultivate apple trees this way so more trees and apples could be produced to take advantage of the sun for a more luscious fruit. Got to be careful that they get too thick on a wall since there is no air flow through these plants.

Hey Roy, yea they won't get thick at all. We let it grow, tie up the good leaders flat to the wall, and the outward growth gets cut off.
