Postponing Lawn Cutting a Week????

As the title says, I'm considering postponing weekly lawn cutting one week this year. Normally start up the first full week in May, however with the long winter and cool spring temps it seems like everything is slow this year. We just had a ton of rain from the storm that swept across the US and I know the fert companies have been out in full force, some lawns could use a cut and others not by a long shot. I still have lots of cleanups and other things to get done before cutting begins so gaining a week would be a huge advantage, just wondering if anyone else is doing this? or am I crazy?? I live in Toronto, Ontario Canada.

Yep. I'm up here in Newmarket sitting in the same boat. Some will need it others won't.

Okay glad I'm not the only one, it will actually help me catch up on everything else, especially considering we just lost 2 full days due to rain. gotta make a ton of calls this weekend to let everyone know. I'm used to foot tall grass the first cut of the season, so this will be a nice change, maybe, lol.

I mowed the lawns that needed it this week and skipped the ones that did not.

Same, doing extra cleanups instead, ive cut two places out of 12, and one didn't actually need it. Some do but I havent gotten around to them. its been a slow start here in Ontario, two weeks ago we had snow, then a lot of rain...hopefully next week will be better and able to get out and complete all cleanups and first cuts.
good luck

We normally would have started cutting this week. The cold weather has pushed us back a week.

I'm in Louisiana. We still have yards tht are biweekly due to the cool spring. I think everybody is getting a late start this year.

Had a look at some yards today, its very hit and miss, some could use it in the back and not the front and vice versa. I hope that holding off an extra week doesn't come back to bite me. I would rather catch up on things then cuts lawns that haven't come around yet. Time to make the calls.
