Trencher teeth?
Its time for a new trencher attacment for my boxer. The one I have now has a 50/50 combo of cupped and shark fin(scopion) teeth.
I see where some have bullet teeth. Which are better??? shark or bullet The shark teeth that i have new have held up very well. |

I use mostly cupped with a few sharks sprinkled in. The bullets are a good bit more expensive if I remember correctly. I got a good price on teeth at Ditch witch out of ATL. They were $3 a piece if I remember right. I rebuild all my trenchers in the winter, so we are not up at 12am changing teeth in the summer!

We are a little farther north than you, so we use full welded shark chains with additional H plates welded in for cups. Every shark chain or combo shark chain we have tried end up being a maintenance nightmare. It is not uncommon for us to have to haul off 3-6 yards of rock of a new install.

Bullets are nice but very expensive, and for us, the length of life does not justify the cost. We use only DW cups.

you need to buy your chains and teeth from ballentine inc.
they manufacture chains and teeth for vermeer, toro and other big known co's possibly some for ditch witch. call them, they'll send you a catalog. i save about 40-50% going through them. http://www.ballantineinc.com/ |

Just called ballentine... wanted $4.17 for a standard dingo trencher tooth. Ditch Witch wanted $3.57 per tooth.

ballentine charges me 3.80 a dingo tooth
and buying from my local toro dingo dealer is exactly twice that amount per tooth plus tax of course. bigred, glad to see you used them! alot of the pricing difference could depend on who you deal with, everyones markup is different. |
