Spiraling White Fly

Have any of you been dealing with this on your coconut and/or royal palms? I am in the Ft Myers area and having problems mostly on coconuts.

It'll choke evrything it's on and underneath it.

Use a Safari bark drench on the coconuts (be sure to add a wetting agent) Don't eat the fruit. Imidacloprid is too slow.

I have been using safari, been thinking of using imajet. What results have you been having with safari as far reinfestation period?

Safari as a bark drench you'll have to increase your concentrations. Go to their web site. The Imida has a slower uptake.

I apply the drench at about the end of March and usually don't need a second treatment until the next year. Prophylactic ally you can also use Coretect.

Just remember you'll need to clean as much of the sooty mold as you can before the tree can recover completely.

I have been applying safari as a soil drench at the highest label rate and only getting 6 month control.

I know imajet has slower uptake but we have a lot of coconuts around pools and injection is much safer.

As far as cleaning off the sooty mold, this may be difficult seeing i may have to apply to 1200 palms on 1 property

if you have the Arborjet system, it makes sense to use their formula. 1,000 trees. I hope you have a lot of arborjets

6-8 months is about right. If you time your application just prior to the warmer weather, you should make it through to the cooler weather where white fly is not a problem.

I don't know that the injection is going to give you a lot more control; uptake will definitly be quicker.
