Its all dying. First the hedge trimmer then a trimmer

I had a hedge trimmer die then a mower then a trimmer and now a new trimmer, only 2 weeks old.

I called the dealer and was informed that it is the ethanol in the fuel. How do I deal with with the ethanol as I cannot buy non ethanol fuel.

You using 93 gas in them? Never had a problem.

It's not the ethanol in just two weeks...take the stuff back to dealer and make him fix it.

If you just bought it...it was designed to run on 10 to 15 % ethanol...
Tell your dealer to get over it....and do the warranty....

No as the manual states I am using 89 octane.

Pour it out and run 93 in it. Try it now and just keep pulling the rip cord till it starts.Come back in an hour and tell us it works good now.

Just an update.

I drained all my 2 cycles and put non ethanol premium fuel oil mix into them all. the one trimmer appears to still run like *crap, I ran it til the filter appeared to plug and it has never really been good since. All the other stuff appears to run better/start better. However I have noticed though there is a noticeable amount of smoke coming from the exhaust when they start. Its not choking me bad, but I have never noticed this *before.



*Before: regular 87 octane oil mix
*crap: will run forever with full choke until I touch the throttle then dies, as soon as I open the choke it will die unless I simultaneously open choke and go full throttle. Not half throttle or 95% throttle but full. Any tiny bit less then full throttle it dies.

Edit: I hate looking like a monkey on a customers property fighting with machines that don't work. I have been quite lucky to always have stuff that starts first pull, until now of course, lol.

Ethanol wouldn't do that in 2 weeks. Are you sure you mixed oil with the gas? Stupid question, but crews have made that mistake in the past.
