Hunter Kills the I-35 Rotor

Their quality has gone to hell. Couldn't get it to rotate reliably.

We have been dealing with several issues with Hunter I-Core and XC Hydrid.

Hunter customer service has been good, but it has wasted allot of labor.

I have some athletic fields with 50 of these heads. They have worked flawlessly considering it's on irony well water. I guess all good things must come to an end.

They have not found or told us the problem. We had 3 brand new I-Core controllers (not running the DUAL) not work for various reasons. One had no display once powered up. The other 2 had module issues. We also had another firing multiple zones when was programmed to fire one station at a time. Changed all the modules, during manual testing all seemed fine and then the homeowner called saying it was firing zones 1 & 2 again. The flow meter backed up what she said.

We called Hunter tech support, he asked for the date codes, once we have him the 4-11 he immediately said he would ship us a complete new controller w / modules and asked us to ship the other back. He also sent us some extra station and main power modules.

They responded great as always and I am just disappointed because the I-Core is one of my favorite new controllers.

I do want to point out that out of 2 dozen or so systems we use the DUAL on we have had ZERO issues.

We also have a lot of them in our fields and they work perfectly. The coverage is better than advertised and the flow stop feature is indispensable.

We don't have well water, but it is raw, untreated ditch water. I love the I-35, but I have heard about recent failures. How could a company make a product that works perfectly and then have so many problems? Is this indicative of future Hunter issues?

I certainly hope they either design a new rotor of this range with flow stop....or add it to the I-25.
