Not sure how to adjust the engine speed. There is a spring that hooks in 1 of four holes. I think it is related to the governor and am a little weary messing with that.

Here's the easy way...don't mess with the governor spring unless you have to.

With the engine off..loosen the throttle cable clamp on the engine..
Move the throttle lever to full throttle...
Pull the cable housing thru the cable clamp as far as it will pull..
Tighten the clamp.....if you still need more speed...adjust the throttle stop to allow more travel...and adjust the cable to the new limit..
Each hole away from the governor shaft is usually about an extra 150 to 200 rpms.
