Pipe joiners

Anybody have a preference on pipe joiners?

Thinking about this one. Anybody got a better one or more efficient one?

Duckbutter and a bar, good excavator and it's done. One person doesn't set pipe over 4" by himself as a rule

On 4" pipe would you rather use mini x or pipe joiner. Got some sleeves to contend with.

as i said Duckbutter and a bar works the best for me.

With some duck butter everything goes together nice and easy!

Agreed, not too much thats better than a couple gasketed knock ons and some duck butter for a repair

I actually liked the pipe joiner today. Did the first few with a bar, but found the pipe joiner to be much faster. I had some difficult areas to install the fittings(running pipe through sleeves 4' deep. I don't know how you guys use a bar while putting on an elbow fitting unless you have access to straight back elbows, the angle of the elbow just wouldn't allow a straight push. Whereas I had a hub fork attachment for the pipe joiner to push on the fittings, that pushed the elbow right on.

And you could literally pull the pipe together with one finger.

I used to be able to push 4" gasketed pipe together by hand, well, hand and gut. Just gotta make sure that the bell and spigot are lined up properly and well lubed.
